1 Corinthians 15:3

3 παρέδωκα γὰρ ὑμῖν ἐν πρώτοις, ὃ καὶ παρέλαβον, ὅτι Χριστὸς ἀπέθανεν ὑπὲρ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν ἡμῶν κατὰ τὰς γραφὰς

3 You see, I handed over to you as of first importance, which even I received, that Christ died on behalf of our sins according to the Scriptures

παρέδωκα – subj. and main verb [aor-act-ind-1-s-παραδίδωμι].

γὰρ – explanatory conj. [W673], not causal: “you see” expresses this better than “for.”

ὑμῖν – dat. ind. obj.

ἐν πρώτοις, – prep. phrase. BDAG notes that even though the literal translation is “among the first,” it is better translated as “most important things, i.e. as of first importance.”

ὃ – rel. pronoun marking rel. clause. Acc. dir. obj. of rel. clause.

καὶ – ascensive (“even”) [W670-71] or possibly additive/adjunctive conj. (“also) [W671].

παρέλαβον, – subj. and verb of rel. clause [aor-act-ind-1-s-παραλαμβάνω].

ὅτι – content conj. [W678]. Wallace notes that this is a dir. obj. clause, that is, ὅτι and everything with it functions as the dir. obj. of the main verb παρέδωκα. There are four connected content conj. in vv. 3-5. This is the first.

Χριστὸς – nom. subj. of dir. obj. content clause. It is the subj. of the next three verbs of the dir. obj. content clause: ἀπέθανεν, ἐτάφη, and ἐγήγερται.

ἀπέθανεν – verb of dir. obj. content clause [aor-act-ind-3-s-αποθνήσκω].

ὑπὲρ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν – prep. phrase.

ἡμῶν – subj. gen. (“we sinned”) because the head noun is a verbal noun. Wallace notes that it is closely related to a poss. gen., but subj./obj. gen. take precedence over possession [W82].

κατὰ τὰς γραφὰς – prep. phrase.
