1 Corinthians 15:53

53 Δεῖ γὰρ τὸ φθαρτὸν τοῦτο ἐνδύσασθαι ἀφθαρσίαν καὶ τὸ θνητὸν τοῦτο ἐνδύσασθαι ἀθανασίαν.

53 For it is necessary (for) this perishable (body) to put on imperishability, and (it is necessary for) this mortal (body) to put on immortality.

Δεῖ – main verb [pres-act-ind-3-s]. It is an impersonal verb that must take an infinitive as its subject.

γὰρ – explanatory conj. [W673].

τὸ φθαρτὸν τοῦτο – acc. subj. of inf. ἐνδύσασθαι (first).

ἐνδύσασθαι – first subj. inf. [aor-mid/pass-inf-ενδύω]. It is the first subj. of the impersonal verb δεῖ [W600-01]. “to put on is necessary” = “it is necessary to put on.” Put altogether: “this perishable (body) to put on is necessary” or “(that) this perishable (body) put on is necessary” = “it is necessary (for) this perishable (body) to put on” or “it is necessary (that) this perishable (body) put on.”

ἀφθαρσίαν – acc. dir. obj. of inf. ἐνδύσασθαι (first).

καὶ – connective conj. [W671].

τὸ θνητὸν τοῦτο – acc. subj of inf. ἐνδύσασθαι (second).

ἐνδύσασθαι – second subj. inf. [aor-mid/pass-inf-ενδύω]. It is the second subj. of the impersonal verb δεῖ [W600-01]. “to put on is necessary” = “it is necessary to put on.” Put altogether: “this mortal (body) to put on is necessary” or “(that) this mortal (body) put on is necessary” = “it is necessary (for) this mortal (body) to put on” or “it is necessary (that) this mortal (body) put on.”
