1 Corinthians 15:25
25 δεῖ γὰρ αὐτὸν βασιλεύειν ἄχρι οὗ θῇ πάντας τοὺς ἐχθροὺς ὑπὸ τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ.
25 You see, it is necessary (for) him to reign until the time when he sets all his enemies under his feet.
δεῖ – main verb [pres-act-ind-3-s]. This impersonal verb takes an inf. as its subj.
γὰρ – explanatory conj. [W673].
αὐτὸν – acc. subj. of the inf. [W192-97]. “Him to reign” = “he reigns.”
βασιλεύειν – subj. inf. [pres-act-inf]. It is the subj. of the impersonal verb δεῖ [W600-01]. “to reign is necessary” = “it is necessary to reign.” Put altogether: “him to reign is necessary” or “(that) he reigns is necessary” = “it is necessary (for) him to reign” or “it is necessary (that) he reigns.”
ἄχρι οὗ – prep. phrase. Here the prep. is used as a conj. and this phrase is an idiom for “until the time when” (BDAG 1.b.α.).
θῇ – subj. and verb of sub. clause [aor-act-subjv-3-s-τίθημι].
πάντας τοὺς ἐχθροὺς – acc. dir. obj. The article is acting as a possessive pronoun [W215-16]. ἐχθροὺς is a substantival adjective.
ὑπὸ τοὺς πόδας – prep. phrase.
αὐτοῦ. – poss. gen. [W81-83].
