As a way to prepare for Easter, I invite you to join me on a 58 day journey through the 58 verses of 1 Corinthians 15 in Greek. Below is a link to the video. Click here for the previous video on 1 Cor 15:25 and click here for the next video on 1 Cor 15:27.

1 Corinthians 15:26
26 ἔσχατος ἐχθρὸς καταργεῖται ὁ θάνατος·
26 Death, the last enemy, is certainly going to be wiped out.
ἔσχατος ἐχθρὸς – nom. in simple apposition to ὁ θάνατος [W48-49]. Fronted perhaps for emphasis. Monadic absence of the art. [W248-49]. Note the asyndeton [W658].
καταργεῖται – main verb [pres-pass-ind-3-s-καταργέω]. Futuristic present, either completely futuristic or mostly futuristic [W535-37].
ὁ θάνατος· – nom. subj. because it is articular. Moreover, it is probably a generic (categorical) article [W227-31]. Perhaps emphatic for being placed last (J. J. Lias, 173).
